Artist and Mountains

Description

Dautbaev, Arsen. 1952
A lyrical mountain landscape of a sun-drenched hilly slope opening onto a view of high mountain ranges with snowy peaks. The composition is built in tiers: from the bright green foreground with trees and a loosely sketched figure of a man in a hat, to the hills of the middle ground, the small houses in the hollows, and beyond - to the majestic line of snow-capped mountains. The space is conveyed with elements of plein-air painting: freely and broadly, with wide, dynamic brushstrokes.
