Description

Author: Dmitriyev, Valentin. 1926-1998
A mountain landscape with a flock of sheep descending the hillside in a winding ribbon. The composition is built on the rhythm of bands of color - emerald green, ochre, and deep red - that delineate the contours of the hills; in the upper right, on the top of the hill, the figure of a rider can be discerned. A high horizon with dark mountain ranges beneath a pale sky, together with generalized forms and a resonant, contrasting palette, gives the work a distinctly decorative character. Bottom left – signature and a date.
