An abstract-surrealist composition built on a combination of fluid organic forms and geometric divisions of the plane. The polychrome palette creates a dynamic field of colour in which stylized anthropomorphic and botanical motifs can be discerned. The rhythmic alternation of large colour planes and fine plastic detailing forms a tense yet balanced structure on the canvas. The work draws on the tradition of pictorial abstraction of form, transforming the material world into an independent plastic system. Bottom right - signature and date
