A composition depicting three women in traditional costume seated on a carpet against a steppe landscape. In the distance, the flowering steppe and low hills convey a sense of open space. The composition is arranged frontally, with emphasis on the group of figures. The colouring is light and decorative, founded on a blend of pink, blue, white, and lilac tones. The handling is free and expressive: mobile impasto strokes, a shimmer of cool hues, and a generalisation of form set against the decorative eloquence of the whole. The work conveys a poeticised image of traditional life and of the harmony between humankind and nature. Lower left, a signature.
