A genre composition depicting children in the foreground planting bulbs in a spring garden. Blossoming trees and the soft luminous colouring of the background create an atmosphere of spring awakening in nature. The composition is built upon the interaction of the figures and the gentle rhythm of diagonals guiding the viewer’s eye toward the central action. The colour scheme is rendered in delicate pinkish-green, ochre, and bluish tones. At the bottom left is a signature and date.
