Medal “70th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Republic of Belarus from Nazi Occupation”

Description

The medal is circular in shape and made of gold-coloured metal. The obverse depicts a Soviet soldier armed with a submachine gun, a partisan, and a female underground resistance member against the background of a destroyed railway track. To the left is a laurel branch intertwined with the ribbon of the Order of Glory, together with the dates “1944” and “2014”. The Order of the Patriotic War is depicted in the lower part.
The upper part of the reverse features the ribbon of the Order of Glory with the dates “1944” and “2014”. Below is the Belarusian inscription “70 год вызвалення Рэспублікі Беларусь ад нямецка-фашысцкіх захопнікаў” (“70 Years of the Liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi Invaders”) and a raised five-pointed star. All elements are executed in relief. The edge of the medal is bordered by a raised rim.
The medal is attached by means of a suspension loop and ring to a pentagonal mount covered with a moiré ribbon. The edges of the ribbon reproduce the colours of the ribbon of the Order of Glory, while the central section reproduces the colours of the ribbon of the Medal “To a Partisan of the Patriotic War”, 1st Class.
