Taxidermy of a Coot

Description

Coot specimen - a taxidermy exhibit prepared for educational and display purposes, preserving the bird’s external morphological features in their natural form. The specimen depicts a coot in a natural posture. The body is compact, the head is directed forward, and the neck is slightly elongated. The plumage is predominantly black, with brownish-grey shades visible on the back and wings. The head and neck are black. The tip of the beak is yellowish, while its base is red; a light-coloured frontal shield is located on the forehead. The legs are long and yellowish-green.
The specimen is mounted on a compositional base imitating its natural habitat. Artificial green leaves and elements representing aquatic vegetation are arranged on the surface of the base. The composition was created to demonstrate the coot’s habitat and its adaptation to wetland environments.
