Description

The exhibit is a mechanical typewriter used by Fatima Gabitova. The typewriter has a compact form, with a predominantly black body and some parts of the outer casing decorated in yellow. The front section features a keyboard with letters of the Russian alphabet, numbers, and punctuation marks. The upper section contains a cylindrical platen for holding the paper, as well as mechanisms for moving and securing it. Ribbon spools are located on both sides, while the central section contains metal type elements used to imprint characters onto the paper. The typewriter is operated manually by a mechanical mechanism and is designed for printing text on paper.
