Description

Kaf Maryam plant - a sacred plant brought by scholar, Professor of Pedagogical and Psychological Sciences, Full Member of the New York Academy, and Honorary Doctor of Philosophy Kulash Aitmoldakyzy Orazbekova during her pilgrimage trip to the city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The exhibit has been preserved in the form of a dried plant. The stems and roots are tightly intertwined, forming a compact spherical shape. The main part is brownish-gray in color, with a dry and rigid texture. Some long, thin stems extend outward from the main body. Due to its dried condition, the leaves are not clearly visible.
Kaf Maryam is a drought-resistant plant known for its unusual properties. When it dries out, it completely contracts into a spherical shape and can remain dormant for a long period of time. When exposed to moisture, the plant unfolds again and resumes its life processes.
