Kamancha

Description

The kamancheh is a musical instrument of Persian origin, resembling the dombra in shape. It is made of a metal alloy and, over time, has acquired a greenish tint due to oxidation. The kamancheh is considered an essential instrument in traditional professional ensembles of the East. This exhibit was donated to the museum collection in 2004 by a resident of Taraz, K. Kakibayev. It is dated to the 19th century.
