Description
A device on which a golden eagle sits. The square-based perch has a rim that allows the eagle’s claws to grip firmly without slipping. The place where the bird sits is also called qusbassar (“bird’s seat”). A sturdy perch is made from a forked branch or root base of trees such as pine, poplar, or cedar. On a stable perch, the eagle bends its neck, alternately tucks its legs under its body, and sleeps standing on one foot. The lower part of the rim has an iron-fastened ring.
