Körpe is a blanket and bedding item made by stitching fabric with cotton or wool filling inside. The lining is made of plain fabric, and the outer layer is crafted from blue, red, or yellow velvet. A “ram’s horn” (qoshqar muyiz) pattern is embroidered on the blue velvet. A quilt made from multicolored fabric pieces and decorated with patterns such as amulets, eight-petal motifs, rhombuses, and other traditional Kazakh ornaments is called a quraq körpe (patchwork quilt).
