Comzol

Description

A traditional garment widely worn among the Kazakh people - the kamzol (vest). The kamzol is made of black velvet fabric. The front is decorated with the «қошқармүйіз» (ram’s horn) ornament embroidered with golden threads. The edges of the kamzol are trimmed with shiny gold-coloured bands. The kamzol was worn over a woman’s dress. The degree of its decoration could indicate a woman’s social status and material standing.
