Embroidered Headscarf (with loop) - traditional Kazakh women’s headwear.
The headscarf is made from cotton fabric. Its main feature is the artistic embroidery running along the edges. The embroidery is decorated with a traditional pattern called “omyrtka” (spine). This pattern symbolizes life and continuity according to Kazakh symbolic beliefs.
Various colored wool threads (red, blue, yellow, brown, and green) are used for the embroidery. This color combination reflects traditional choices characteristic of folk decorative and applied arts.
