Description

A snuff‑box made of yellow‑colored metal. It was used for storing tobacco, aromatic or stimulative substances. The snuff‑box is round in shape, its body secured by a rim. It has a narrow cylindrical neck, which is closed with a rubber stopper. On one side of the stopper there is a ring for a chain, the other end of which is attached to a lug on the rim of the snuff‑box. On the surface of the box is engraved a solar motif composed of plant leaves.
Date: Second half of the 19th century.
