Shymyldyk (bed curtain)

Description

A traditional national textile item designed to be placed in front of a bed, separating the sleeping area from the rest of the room. The item is made of dense burgundy velvet, with the fabric gathered into soft folds. The front side is decorated with small decorative rhinestones. The upper part is finished with a raised border featuring a diamond-shaped ornament in a traditional national style. The lower edge is adorned with blue tassels. The item reflects the traditional features of interior decoration and the domestic culture of the Kazakh people.
