Syrmak

Description

Syrmak is a decorative felt floor covering made by cutting patterns from coloured felt and appliquéing them onto a felt base. This syrmak is made of hand-felted wool and decorated with traditional Kazakh ornaments. The patterns are arranged symmetrically, with the main motif being «қошқар мүйіз» (“ram’s horns”). Black, red and brown colours are harmoniously combined. The edges are finished with double-layered edging, making the item more durable and decorative.
