Description
The object is an Order of the Patriotic War associated with A. Taganov. The decoration takes the form of a raised five-pointed star covered with ruby-red enamel. Its central medallion bears the hammer-and-sickle emblem, surrounded by a white enamel band inscribed “ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА” (“Patriotic War”). The composition includes radiating elements and crossed military weapons. The reverse bears the “Монетный двор” (“Mint”) mark, serial number 2148440, and a fastening device. The object represents the Soviet military award system and has historical and memorial significance as a personal military decoration.
