Leather Men’s Belt

Description

The leather men’s belt dates to the 19th century and represents a traditional Kazakh multi-component belt. It is made of durable black leather and fitted with functional and decorative hanging elements. One of the principal attachments is a leather pouch designed for carrying ammunition, a knife, and other necessary items. The leather band and suspended components are decorated with silver plaques of various shapes. The metal elements were applied using stamping and nail fastening techniques, forming an integrated ornamental composition. The object combines practical and decorative functions and reflects aspects of traditional men’s dress and material culture associated with the military and everyday use of the period. The belt is well preserved.
