Saddle - Element of Horse Harness

Description

This saddle is an element of traditional horse harness and features elaborate decorative treatment. Its frame is made of assembled pine wood. Both sides of the frame are covered with metal plates decorated with Kazakh ornamental motifs. The front surface is embellished with elements made of pure metal, including floral ornaments measuring 1.5 cm in diameter and raised ornamental elements measuring 0.8 cm in diameter. A total of 72 raised decorative elements are present. The saddle dates to the 19th century and was handcrafted.
