Description

Soft fur footwear. Soft fur footwear made of dressed sheepskin with the fur facing inward. They are cut and sewn from three pieces: a sole and two side panels. They feature ties (66 cm long) made of horsehair and sheep’s wool. Hunters and herdsmen wear them over their boots during the freezing winter months. They belonged to Sandykbay Rustem (of the Naiman tribe) from Bayan-Ulgii Province, Mongolia. Acquired in 2000 from his children, who reside in the Almaty Region. Mongolia. Tanned, sheepskin, bristle.
