Description
Rostrum of the belemnite (Belemnitida). A dense, dart-shaped part of the internal skeleton of extinct cephalopod mollusks. A characteristic fossil remnant found in marine deposits of the Mesozoic era. It is used as a stratigraphic indicator for determining the age of sedimentary rocks and is of significant importance for reconstructing the paleoecological conditions of ancient marine basins.
