Description
This artifact is a taxidermy mount of a corsac fox (Vulpes corsac), prepared using the animal’s natural hide and fur. The corsac fox is a member of the dog family (Canidae) and is a characteristic predator of the steppes and semi-deserts of Kazakhstan and Central Asia. The specimen preserves the species’ distinctive features, including its pale yellowish-gray coat, black ears, and bushy light-colored tail. The animal is displayed in an alert posture with its mouth partially open, revealing its teeth and illustrating its natural defensive or hunting behavior.
