Description

This exhibit is a taxidermy mount of a bird of prey known locally as Zhamansary, belonging to the order Falconiformes. The specimen has been prepared using the bird’s natural skin and feathers while preserving its anatomical characteristics. It is displayed with fully outstretched wings, illustrating its natural flight posture. The plumage is predominantly dark brown, with distinctive pale patches on the undersides of the wings. Birds of prey play an essential ecological role by controlling populations of small mammals and other prey species, thereby maintaining ecosystem balance. The specimen serves as an educational and scientific exhibit demonstrating the diversity of Kazakhstan’s raptor fauna and the principles of museum taxidermy.
