Description
Diorite porphyrite. A magmatic rock, classified as a hypabyssal (subvolcanic) intrusive formation. By composition, it is close to diorite but differs in porphyritic structure: large mineral crystals are embedded in a fine-grained matrix. The rock formed as a result of the slow cooling of magma in the upper parts of the Earth’s crust.
