Coin of the Turgesh Khaganate

Description

The coin is round with a square hole in the center. There is a convex rim along the edge of the coin, 3 mm thick. There is also a rim around the central hole, 1 mm thick. The front side is a circular Sogdian legend, written in italics, counterclockwise. The legend consists of 4 words “Вүу twrkys ү´ү´n pny” “Lord Turgesh Kagan”. The back side is the Turgesh tamga, inscribed in the field of the coin between the thick linear rim and the square hole, the square hole is highlighted with a rhombus, as part of the tamga.
