Description

Chapan. This chapan is a traditional ceremonial outer garment of Kazakh men. It is made of thick red plush fabric. The collar, sleeve edges, and hem are trimmed with yellow thread and decorated with traditional ornaments such as “ram’s horns” and “wave” patterns. On the shoulder part, tassels made of shiny white thread are attached for decorative purposes, emphasizing the ceremonial character of the garment. The lining is made of silk fabric. The chapan has a wide cut, long and fully covering the body.
