Description
The coin is round with a square hole in the center. A convex rim, 3 mm thick, surrounds the coin’s edge. A rim also surrounds the central hole. The obverse features a circular Sogdian legend in cursive, counterclockwise, “xwt’w w’xswt’wy pny” (Kamyshev, 2002) O.S. The Turgesh tamga, with the runic sign “r” on the left and the Sogdian inscription “pny” below.
