Description
Kerme - a traditional storage item. This piece is made using a knotted pile weaving technique and is hung over the kerege (yurt wall lattice) with white and brown looped ends. Its shape is an elongated rectangle. The front side resembles a striped carpet; the main pattern consists of diamond and rectangular motifs, bordered with a multistriped edge featuring a geometric “spine” (omyrtqa) design. The reverse side also features a multistriped diamond pattern. The bottom edge is decorated with colorful tassels (black, red, yellow, white) made from yarn - length: 42 cm.

Condition
The upper corners are torn and sewn.
