Non-pile carpet

Description

Southern Kazakhstan. A central field of rectangular shape with a red-yellow, black, and white background. It is adorned with diamond-shaped medallions – a square with small diamonds in place of the corners and inscribed horned cross motifs “қосмүйіз”. The composition forms a net-like ornament. The border is embellished with “керегекөз” patterns. Surrounded by narrow red serrated stripes (тіс). On both sides along the width, there is a fringe made of basic twisted wool threads in brown color.
