Description

Western Kazakhstan. Date: 1960.
A pile woven shoulder bag (korzhyn), made from woolen threads using carpet weaving techniques. Color - brown, two-pocket, the front side is adorned with a zoomorphic ornament executed in shades of yellow, red, brown, and black. A double row of the “alamonshaq” ornament runs along the edge, with the “qumsaghat” pattern placed between the rows. On the back, a colorful pile pattern “tanday” is woven, to which a round braided strap made from brown camel wool yarn is attached, intended for hanging. The lining is dense, non-pile, woven from pink thread.
