Description
The artifact is the Medal “For the Liberation of Prague,” which belonged to K. Kyraubayev. The medal was established on 9 June 1945 as a state award of the USSR following the successful completion of the Prague Operation by Soviet forces. The obverse bears the relief inscription “FOR THE LIBERATION OF PRAGUE.” The lower section depicts a rising sun with radiating rays, laurel branches, and a small five-pointed star. The reverse bears the inscription “9 MAY 1945” and a star. The medal is attached by a loop and ring to a pentagonal mount covered with a silk moiré ribbon.
