The still life depicts a ceramic jug with a red-ochre neck on the left, a dark, voluminous bowl on the right, and two onions set between them against a deep dark-maroon background. The palette is rendered in a closely related dark range - maroon, ochre, and black - accentuated by sparse light highlights. The dense paint texture with visible drips and the generalized treatment of forms lend the composition an intimate, muted character. Bottom left - monogram.
