A mountain landscape with a horizontal, multi-planar composition: the cold bluish-white peaks of the Zailiysky Ala-Tau range contrast with the dark ochre-brown tones of the foreground steppe, with snow-covered haystacks visible on the right. The palette is built on the juxtaposition of the mountains’ cool blue-white range and the warm, muted hues of the land. The dense, textured brushwork in the foreground and the softening of forms toward the distance convey spatial depth and aerial perspective.
