Kylkobyz

Description

Kylkobyz. A two-stringed musical instrument made of solid wood. The surface of the kylkobyz is partially covered with tanned leather, secured along the edge with small nails. The strings are made of horsehair. The bridge, which raises the strings 3.5 cm, is carved from a thin branch. The upper part of the body has two wooden tuning pegs for tensioning the strings. The overall length of the instrument is 60 cm: the body is 29 cm long, the upper part is 31 cm long, and the lower edge of the body is 5 cm. A 56 cm long bow, also made of wood and horsehair, is included.
