Iron

Description

An item used for smoothing wrinkles in clothing. The forged hollow sole is made of cast iron. It is used by heating and igniting coals inside the iron. A sturdy handle, mounted on a metal cap on the base of the flip opening, is made of wood.
Dating: early 20th century.
Technique: factory production.
