Description
A mortar is a traditional household item made of wood and used for pounding and grinding grains. The pestle (kelsap) is made from dense hardwood, carefully dried in the shade. Its upper part has a diameter of 10 cm and tapers gradually over 26 cm. The middle section (14 cm long) features a 4 cm indentation, making it comfortable to grip. The lower part is rounded, tapering to a 5 cm diameter at the end.
The end of the pestle is worn down from repeated use, and the upper part is cracked and broken.
