Kimeshek (traditional Kazakh women’s headdress)

Description

The kimeshek is a traditional headwear worn by Kazakh women.
This particular kimeshek is sewn in a wide style that covers the shoulders and chest. The back part extends into a long triangular shape that hangs down along the spine. The neckline and chest area are symmetrically embroidered with geometric and floral motifs using red and dark pink threads. The oval-shaped cutout at the collar is designed to leave the face open. The bottom edge is finished with a decorative ruffle. The back portion is plain and made from a single piece of white fabric.
