«20 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945» Medal

Description

Medal “Twenty Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”, belonging to Matrosov M. S. The medal is round in shape. On the front side of the medal, there is an image of a Soviet liberator soldier, with laurel and oak branches depicted below. On either side of the sculpture, there are inscriptions reading ‘1945-1965’. On the reverse side of the medal, it states ‘Twenty years of victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945’ along with ‘XX’ in the center and a star depicted against a background of radiating rays. The medal has a rim on its edges. The images and text on the medal are embossed. The medal is attached to a pentagonal base covered with a silk ribbon through an ear and a ring. The ribbon has three longitudinal alternating stripes - red, green, and black. There is a pin-like hook attached to the outer side of the base.
