Cauldron (Kazan)

Description

The cauldron, or kazan, is a traditional Kazakh cooking vessel. This piece is made of cast iron and has a hemispherical shape. Its thick walls ensure even heat distribution and excellent heat retention. Two handles on either side allow it to be easily lifted and placed over a hearth.
In Kazakh culture, the kazan is not merely a cooking tool, but a symbol of family unity, abundance, and tradition. It was widely used for preparing national dishes, including meat and dairy-based meals, either indoors or outdoors.
