Description

A metal vessel for boiling water, widely used in the traditional household life of the Kazakh people. It was used in domestic activities for heating and boiling water needed for preparing tea and food. In shape, the shäugim resembled a jug, with its lower part adapted for placing over a fire. The vessel’s design included a curved “gooseneck”-shaped spout for pouring water and a handle for convenient holding and for hanging on a tripod (mosy).
