Description
A cauldron with a lid, on a tripod. A traditional Asian cast metal cooking pot with a semi-round bottom. Among the Kazakhs, the cauldron occupies one of the most important places among other dishes. All food (except koumiss) is cooked in a cauldron. It is popularly called not just Kazan, but “kara kazan” (here the word “kara” means sacred).
