Paranja (traditional women’s clothing of the Uzbeks)

Description

The paranja is a traditional garment of the Uzbek people, intended for women. This particular chapan (robe) belonged to the Yunusov family - specifically to Bakira Yunusova - in the early 20th century. The mother wore this garment on festive occasions for approximately 40 years. It was added to the museum collection in 1984.
