Description

The exhibit is a “Guards” badge intended for military personnel serving in Guards units, formations, and associations of the Armed Forces of the USSR. The composition consists of a laurel wreath surrounding a red five-pointed star set against a white enamel background. A shaped cartouche bearing the inscription “USSR” is positioned at the lower part of the badge. The upper section features a red banner bearing the inscription “Guards”. The banner staff, wrapped with a ribbon, extends diagonally toward the lower part of the composition. The borders and individual decorative elements have a gold-colored finish. The badge is a historical example of Soviet military insignia and reflects the system of identifying Guards status during the Great Patriotic War. The condition is good, with the metal base and enamel coating preserved.
