Description
The saz üskirik is one of the ancient Kazakh wind musical instruments. Its shape may vary - most often it is round, egg-shaped, or made in the form of a small animal or bird. Several holes are made on the surface to produce sound, and the instrument is then fired to harden it.
Sound characteristics:
The sound of the saz üskirik is soft and delicate, resembling the singing of birds. It produces sound by blowing air into it, and different melodies can be played by covering the holes with the fingers.
Usage:
Since ancient times, this instrument has been used both as a children’s toy and as a musical instrument. In addition, shepherds and folk musicians used it for entertainment and to imitate the sounds of nature.
