Description

Chainmail. This is a metal armor that protected warriors from slashing and striking blows. It is made of small interlinked metal rings (chain links), connected like a chain. The rings are tightly woven together to form a mesh that fully covers the chest, shoulders, and back. This chainmail armor allows the warrior to move freely while providing protection from arrows and strikes. The armor has a rectangular shape, with sleeve length of 21 cm. The diameter of the neck opening is 26 cm. Such armor was used in the Mangystau region until the first half of the 19th century.
