Description
Dombyra - Kazakh national two-stringed plucked instrument. The neck has 13 tied frets and 2 pegs used to regulate the tension of the strings, which are made from animal veins. The soundboard is carved from a single piece of wood and covered with a wooden plate that has a round sound hole for better resonance. The instrument is inlaid with patterned plates made of white metal, decorated with five-pointed stars and small ornaments - located at the base of the soundboard, along its sides, and at the junction where the neck is attached.
