The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the International Forum “Kazakhstan-France 2026” on Museology, dedicated to issues relating to the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, the development of the museum sector, the introduction of innovative technologies and the digital transformation of the museum sector.
The forum was attended by Aida Balayeva, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Sylvain Guiaugue, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Kazakhstan; and representatives of international organisations.
The forum brought together specialists and experts from the museum sector in Kazakhstan, France, Central Asian countries and the Turkic world, providing a professional platform for discussing pressing issues relating to the preservation of cultural heritage, the modernisation of museum activities and the integration of digital technologies into museum practice.
As part of the forum, the Director of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Bozok” PhD Zhandos Boldykov, delivered a presentation entitled “Bozok - Civilisation of the Great Steppe”, in which he presented the results of research and work on the conservation and museumification of the medieval settlement of Bozok.
The forum’s programme included thematic discussions on the 3D documentation of cultural heritage sites, the creation of virtual exhibitions, the application of artificial intelligence technologies in museum work, and the preservation of intangible cultural heritage.
