Zhuansky District Historical and Local Lore Museum

The Zhuаly District Historical and Local Lore Museum, a municipal state institution under the Department of Culture and Language Development of the Akimat of Zhuаly District, Zhambyl Region, was established on November 30, 2017, by Resolution No. 284 of the Akim of Zhuаly District within the framework of the program “Looking to the Future: Spiritual Renewal.”

The museum was officially opened on September 29, 2018, and currently provides services to the public.

 The main mission of the museum is to implement the programs outlined in the Addresses of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including “Cultural Heritage” and “Rukhani Zhangyru,” as well as to collect, systematize, preserve, and promote the rich historical and cultural heritage of the region for future generations. As noted by the First President:

“Collecting, systematizing, preserving, and passing on to future generations artifacts that bear witness to antiquity and history itself, and promoting them to the wider world, is one of the most honorable responsibilities.”

The museum is located at 5A Zhibek Zholy Street, Bauyrzhan Momyshuly Village. The building is a non-standard, adapted, two-story structure built in 1984. The total area of the museum is 303.2 sq. m, and the building area is 204.4 sq. m. The institution consists of three exhibition halls and five service rooms.

Exhibition halls:

• “Archaeology” Hall - displays artifacts discovered during archaeological excavations within the district;

• “Hall of Glory” - presents materials about prominent figures, heroes, and notable individuals from the Zhuаly region, including biographies and historical events;

• “Local Lore” Hall - features historical and ethnographic items collected by museum staff prior to the 1990s.

Currently, the museum’s collection includes 3,979 artifacts, and it is continuously replenished with new valuable exhibits.

Museum working hours: 09:00 a.m. - 06:00 p.m., lunch break 01:00 p.m. - 02:00 p.m.

Admission is free for all visitors.
