The Historical and Local Lore Museum named after Beimbet Mailin

The Beimbet Mailin Historical and Local History Museum is one of the cultural and educational institutions of the Beimbet Mailin District (formerly Taran District) in the Kostanay Region. The museum was officially established in 1990, although its organizational and exhibition work began as early as 1987.

Staff from the Rudny City Museum, the Kostanay Regional Archive and its Lisakovsk branch, along with local residents, teachers, and students, actively contributed to the formation of the museum's exhibitions. Today, the museum's collection includes more than 8,000 registered items. A special highlight is an extensive collection of over 9,000 archaeological artifacts from the Stone Age. The museum’s holdings encompass materials related to archaeology, ethnography, historical documents, photographs, and objects of material culture.

The museum's archives contain valuable information about the history of both the former Taran and the current Beimbet Mailin Districts, including the history of rural areas, war and labor veterans, and recollections of long-time residents. The museum staff regularly conduct research on the region's history. Particular attention is given to collecting and documenting information about veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the Afghan War, the first Virgin Lands campaigners, poets, writers, artists, masters of decorative and applied arts, and individuals who have made significant contributions to the cultural and social life of the district.

The museum's main mission is to preserve the district's historical and cultural heritage, introduce it into academic circulation, foster patriotic values in the younger generation, and actively promote local history research. In addition, the museum plays a significant role in the regional education system by organizing informative tours, exhibitions, and educational events for schoolchildren and youth.
